NFL legend Marques Colston appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board as part of long-term growth collaboration
Nordic Storm today announced a strategic partnership with Champion Capital, an investment platform providing access to private market opportunities within the global sports economy. The partnership reflects a shared ambition to build a leading sports platform in Scandinavia and forms the foundation for a broader long-term collaboration between the organizations.
As part of the partnership, Champion Capital Managing Partner Marques Colston has been named Chairman of Nordic Storm’s inaugural Advisory Board, where he will support strategic direction, international positioning, and key relationships.
“This is about building something meaningful with the right people around the table,” said Michael Weidick Planeta, Chairman of Nordic Storm. “Marques and Nick bring institutional sports investment expertise, global perspective, and a network that is directly relevant to where the Nordic Storm brand is headed.”
Champion Capital is already engaged in supporting Nordic Storm across selected strategic areas, including international positioning, network expansion, and commercial development. Managing Partner Nick Edwards, who leads capital markets and investment management for the firm, will contribute to the partnership’s strategic direction alongside Colston.
“What Nordic Storm is building goes well beyond a single sport. Football is the entry point, but the vision is a multi-sport platform with commercial reach across the entire Nordic region,” said Marques Colston, Managing Partner of Champion Capital. “That kind of platform-level ambition—backed by an institutional-caliber ownership group and a territorial position that is structurally unique—is exactly where Champion Capital’s strategic resources and global network create the most value.”
Nick Edwards added: “Nordic Storm has a clear vision and the operational foundation to build a significant multisport platform in the Nordics. The strategic alignment between our organizations positions both sides to move with purpose.”
The parties are working toward formalizing a broader long-term partnership.
Additional details will be shared as the collaboration progresses.
