Nordic Storm took another important step towards the EFA playoffs on Sunday with a 40-14 victory over the Prague Lions in the Czech capital.

Before kick-off, the Lions were still searching for their first win of the season in front of their home crowd, while Nordic Storm arrived in Prague determined to continue its strong start and strengthen its position among the league’s top teams.

Once the game got underway, there was little doubt about the outcome.

Storm took control from the opening drive and delivered a dominant first half, taking a commanding 33-0 lead into the break. Although Prague Lions managed to score after half-time, the result was never seriously in doubt.

Head Coach John Shoop was pleased with much of what he saw from his team.

“We played at a high level in the first half and well into the third quarter. We protected quarterback Jadrian Clark well, he distributed the ball effectively, and our defence played fast and aggressive football,” said Shoop after the game.

At the same time, the Head Coach believes there is still room for improvement.

“It was a good win, but we still haven’t played our best football yet.”

General Manager Kristian Gildsig highlighted the team’s physical performance as one of the key reasons behind the victory.

“We did a great job winning the physical battles and establishing a consistent running game throughout the contest. At the same time, we hit several big plays in the passing game,” said Gildsig.

He was equally pleased with the defensive effort.

“Our defence played fast and physical. We shut down their running game and gave Prague Lions quarterback Jaylon Henderson very little time to find his receivers.”

With the victory, Nordic Storm remains undefeated and has built a strong foundation in the race for a playoff spot and the opportunity to compete for the EFA Championship.

Now, however, the biggest test of the season so far awaits.

Frankfurt Galaxy visits Gladsaxe Stadium on Sunday 14 June at 1:00 PM. Frankfurt remains one of the most respected names in European football and a team that has consistently competed at the highest level.

Shoop knows exactly what kind of challenge lies ahead.

“They are big, physical and have one of the most dangerous quarterback-receiver combinations in the league. We are going to need everybody ready.”

The match could play a major role in the battle near the top of the standings and will provide an important measure of where Nordic Storm stands against some of Europe’s strongest teams.

Following an impressive performance in Prague, the focus now turns to Sunday’s showdown in Gladsaxe.

We hope to see a packed stadium when the team takes the field. The support from the stands can make a difference in what could become one of the biggest games of the season.

Kick-off is on Sunday 14 June at 1:00 PM at Gladsaxe Stadium.

See you at the stadium.
