Brendan Beaulieu Makes EFA History
Nordic Storm took another major step toward our ultimate goal this season with an impressive 40-14 road victory over Raiders Tirol. The win secured our place in the EFA Playoffs (BIG4) and keeps us firmly on course in our pursuit of the championship.
We took control of the game from the opening drive and showed why we are one of Europe’s strongest teams. Glen Toonga opened the scoring with a touchdown run before Maceo Beard-Aigret produced one of the game’s biggest highlights with an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown. By halftime, we had built a commanding 27-0 lead thanks to two touchdown receptions from Roberto Miranda, both thrown by quarterback Jadrian Clark.
Raiders Tirol came out stronger in the second half and cut the deficit to 27-14, but we stayed composed. Two touchdown receptions by Edvin Almeida Tavares sealed the game, and Nordic Storm returned home with a convincing 40-14 victory. Our offense produced 445 total yards, while the defense recorded three sacks and a touchdown on an interception return.
Brendan Beaulieu Makes History 🏈
Wide receiver Brendan Beaulieu delivered another outstanding performance with seven catches for 120 yards. In doing so, he became the first player in European Football Alliance history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season.
After the game, Beaulieu was quick to credit his teammates.
“It’s a cool feeling, and all the credit goes to everyone around me. Coach Shoop, the defense for getting us the ball back, Jadrian for putting us in the right situations, the offensive line for protecting us, and the guys around me running great routes and creating space for me. All the credit goes to them.”
Despite the historic milestone, Beaulieu’s focus is already on what comes next.
“Now the focus is on the playoffs. There are always smaller goals along the way, and for me it’s about winning every game to reach the ultimate goal – winning the championship. The atmosphere within the team is great, and we’re working every single day to get better.”
General Manager Kristian Gildsig was naturally pleased with both the result and the team’s performance.
“I think we showed great maturity today. We built a big lead, and even when Raiders fought their way back into the game in the third quarter, we stuck to our game plan and responded immediately. That’s the mindset we need moving forward. Brendan absolutely deserves credit for his historic achievement, but records like that are only possible because this team works for each other. Now it’s all about preparing ourselves as well as possible for the playoffs.”
Although we have now secured our place in the playoffs, the season is far from over. The remaining regular season games are important as we continue building momentum and prepare to be at our very best when the EFA Playoffs begin.
