There was never really any doubt.

In one of Germany’s toughest football environments, we delivered one of our most complete performances of the season, defeating Frankfurt Galaxy 47-9 on Sunday.

The victory improves our season record to 8-1 and once again shows why we have already secured our place in the BIG4.

We took control from the opening drive.

Jadrian Clark connected with Simon Fons for a 38-yard touchdown before Glen Toonga powered into the end zone to make it 13-0. Brendan “Bo” Beaulieu extended the lead before halftime, and although Frankfurt got on the scoreboard with a field goal just before the break, we remained in control throughout the game.

After a scoreless third quarter, we put the game away in the fourth.

Simon Fons and Brendan “Bo” Beaulieu each scored their second touchdown of the afternoon, offensive lineman Isaac Moore caught his first touchdown of the season, and on the final play of the game, Jumilson Moreira F. returned a missed field goal for a touchdown.

The final score: 47-9

The numbers tell the story.

We finished with 568 total offensive yards, while our defense held Frankfurt to just 198 total yards and only 20 rushing yards. The defense also recorded seven sacks and applied relentless pressure on Frankfurt quarterback Zach Calzada throughout the afternoon.

Jadrian Clark threw for 440 yards and five touchdowns, Brendan “Bo” Beaulieu finished with 11 receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns, while Simon Fons added four catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

Glen Toonga Makes More Storm History

Earlier this season, Brendan “Bo” Beaulieu became the first receiver in the EFA to surpass 1,000 receiving yards.

On Sunday, it was Glen Toonga’s turn to make history.

With 108 rushing yards against Frankfurt, he became the first running back in the EFA this season to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards.

Toonga described the achievement as “bittersweet.”

“Part of me feels like I’m still not where I should be, but I remind myself that I’m the only back who’s reached 1,000 yards. I’m thankful to Coach Shoop for trusting me, thankful to the offensive line for blocking their butts off, and thankful to Jadrian for giving me the ball when he’s meant to. It’s bittersweet, but I’m enjoying it right now. Now it’s back to watching the film, finding where I can improve, and playing an even better game next week.”

For Toonga, however, the team success means even more than the personal milestone.

“It’s great to see everyone getting the ball. At the end of the day we want to win, but it’s nice when everyone contributes. Isaac caught a touchdown today, Bo had a great game, Eddie made some big plays, and I had some good plays too. When everyone contributes, we all get to celebrate together. That means a lot.”

While he continues to feel stronger every week after returning from injury, his focus is already on what’s ahead.

“Every week I trust myself more. I’m doing more things by instinct now, but I still don’t feel like I’m there yet. The most important thing is to play your best football in the playoffs. We’ve secured our spot, so now it’s about getting better every single week and peaking when it matters most.”

Kristian Gildsig: We’re Building Momentum

General Manager Kristian Gildsig was pleased with the performance but made it clear that the team is already focused on the next challenge.

“Frankfurt is one of the toughest places to play, so I’m especially pleased with the maturity we showed. We stuck to our game plan, stayed disciplined, and never allowed the game to get out of our control.”

“We’ve secured our place in the BIG4, but we’re far from finished. I believe we’re improving every single week, and that’s exactly what you want to see at this stage of the season. Now it’s all about continuing that development and reaching our highest level when the playoffs begin.”

One More Home Game Before the Playoffs

Our next challenge is the final home game of the regular season as the Munich Ravens visit Gladsaxe Stadium on Friday, August 8.

It will be a matchup against the only team to defeat us this season and our final opportunity to fine-tune before the BIG4 playoffs begin.

We can’t wait to feel the incredible support from Storm Nation once again as we chase another home victory.
